Dr. Spears received his M.D. from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2005, where he was inducted into the delta chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society in his senior year.  He completed his residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2009.  He has been board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology since 2009.  Dr. Spears completed an additional year of training in hematopathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin before joining PTPG in July, 2010. He also received his board certification in hematopathology in November, 2010.
